Time is short, though. Voter registration closes on October 10th.

The Niles Township Progressive Democrats in cooperation with the Niles Township Democratic Organization is hosting a deputy registrar training class. The class lasts about an hour and is conducted by a representative from the Cook County Clerk's office. Once you're deputized, you can begin registering—and you can register anyone in the State of Illinois. The verification receipt you give new registrants guarantees that they will be able to vote on election day or can vote by absentee ballot.

We need 25 participants to guarantee a trainer.

If you are already deputized, feel free to sign up for a refresher and to familiarize yourself with the new rules.

Please RSVP to Leah Yarrow at lkyarrow@yahoo.com and include your full name, address, and city/zip The clerk's office needs that information to confirm that you are a registered voter yourself. (You can also be registered the night of the class.)
